Who is Diplo and how am i influenced bye his sound?

Thomas Wesley Pentz (born November 10, 1978), better known by his stage name Diplo, is an American DJ and record producer based in Los Angeles, California. He is the co-creator and lead member of the electronic dancehall music project Major Lazer and along with producer and DJ Skrillex, part of the electronic duo Jack Ü.
He founded and manages record company Mad Decent, as well as co-founding the non-profit organization Heaps Decent. Among other jobs, he has worked as a school teacher in Philadelphia. His 2013 EP, Revolution, debuted at number 68 on the US Billboard 200. The EP’s title track was later featured in a commercial for Hyundai and is featured on the WWE 2K16 soundtrack.
During his rise to fame, Diplo worked with British musician M.I.A., an artist who is credited with giving him exposure in his early career. Later, he and fellow M.I.A. producer Switch created a Jamaican dancehall project and cartoon series titled Major Lazer.
Since then, Diplo has worked on production and mixtape projects with many other pop artists, such as Gwen Stefani, M.I.A., Die Antwoord,
Britney Spears, Madonna, Shakira, Beyoncé, No Doubt, Justin Bieber, Usher, Snoop Dogg, Trippie Redd, Chris Brown, CL and G-Dragon.His alias, short for Diplodocus, derives from his childhood fascination with dinosaurs. He is the co-producer of several tracks on Madonna's thirteenth studio album Rebel Heart.
Diplo was born on November 10, 1978, in Tupelo, Mississippi, the son of Barbara Jean (née Cox) and Thomas Pentz. He is of Germanand English descent.[10][11][12] The influence of home-grown rap played a key role in helping shape his production style. He spent the majority of his youth in Miami, where he got a taste for the characteristic Miami bass.
He began attending the University of Central Florida in 1997, and then moved to Philadelphia to continue his studies at Temple University, where he first garnered attention as a DJ.[16] After frequently running into fellow DJ Low Budget, the two began throwing parties under the Hooked on Hollertronix moniker in 2003 as a way of maintaining control of what they were able to play during DJ gigs in Philadelphia.
The success of these parties allowed the two to release mixtapes, both separate and together, gathering acclaim across the country. One such mixtape, Never Scared, was named one of the New York Times top ten albums of 2003, and the Hollertronix name became synonymous with parties featuring guests like Maluca Mala, Bun B, Spank Rock, M.I.A., among others. Hollertronix's sound has been described as "disparate genres to be smashed together for maximum attention-grabbing impact" an aesthetic which takes from the "organic, cohesive, whole" aesthetic of acts such as Bun B, Lil Jon, Drama, M.I.A., Björk, Busta Rhymes, and others.

HOW IS THAT I FIND INFLUENCE FROM DIPLO?
For myself as an artist i find my music and the music of other producers influences me through my emotions. When we listen to sad songs, we tend to feel a decline in mood. When we listen to happy songs, we feel happier. When asked about our listening habits, mixed results were found in accordance to the amount of time we spent listening to music on a daily basis.
I believe that music can be highly emotional and affect certain behaviours and moods based on feelings and example of this would be music and aggression. Listening to lyrics that involve guns, violence and aggressive behaviour can have a negative influence on youth. ''According to a 2003 study published in the "Journal of Personality and Social Psychology," violent lyrics increase both aggressive thoughts and aggressive feelings.''Emotion regulation is an essential component to mental health. Poor emotion regulation is associated with psychiatric mood disorders such as depression.
Several studies have linked music to drug-like effects. Research conducted by neuroscientist Valorie Salimpoor found that music releases dopamine, the “feel good hormone” that is activated from pleasurable experiences like food or sex. ... Listening to music changes your brain chemistry.
But many people also listen to music on their own as a means of emotion regulation, and not much is known about how this kind of music listening affects mental health.
Many people are influenced by music they listen to. Mostly because they want to copy their favorite artist or because they feel that's a way of expressing themselves and fitting in with the people that are into the same music. ... Another way people let music influence them is the language or slang they use. I believe that music can effect the brain and the way our emotions can be effected when we listen to certain sounds
The evidence is clear — playing a musical instrument or listening to music can positively affect brain health and function. ... Music can improve mood, increase intelligence, enhance learning and concentration, and ward off the effects of brain ageing.
So how does diplo influence me and the sound that he creates?
Imagine a world with no soothing sounds. Imagine yourself listening to the radio and all you hear is talking. Imagine poetry without a melody. When you go outside you see birds but you don’t hear them sing. When you drive, ride the train or ride a bus or even walk, you have no melodious sounds to pass the time, to take you to another place or to open your imagination.
Diplo's Music inspires, enhances, broadens horizens, soothes, excites, brings joy, makes sad days more tolerable, makes special days the best days of our lives. m Diplo's music is everywhere and i find influence from his bass lines and the syth's that he creates with in his sound.
Diplos music to me is a language that is universal. You don’t have to know the lyrics, in fact many people make up their own ones!
Diplo's music itself will tell you to laugh, to cry, to smile, to frown, to be joyful, to hateful by just how its played. It can make you swell with pride or shake with anger. I was very interested to find out who influences diplo and were he draws his sound from. Some of Diplo's influences are Massive AttackTwin ,TwinThievery CorporationFila, Brazillia, DJ Shadow, The Chemical Brothers, TrickySneaker Pimps, Miami Bass Machine, 2 Howie B and DJ Spooky.
How has Diplo's music changed the game ?
In an interview with Thump Vice magazine Diplo quoted:
"We definitely predated hipsters," says Diplo of the now-defunct web forum known as the Hollerboard. "It was like a secret club."Throughout the 2000s, the Low-Bee board, otherwise known as the Hollerboard, was an online gathering place for DJs, internet nerds, producers and party kids to exchange music, talk shit, party right, hook up, and LOL. It grew from a tiny community that had migrated from other Philadelphia-based indie rock and hip-hop boards, connected with a party called Hollertronix, thrown by a then-relatively unknown me and my good friend, DJ Low-Budget or Low-Bee."What it did was solidify our scene in Philly and NYC—[party crews like] Hollertronix, The Rub, etc.—very like-minded kids," Diplo continues. The community that developed around Hollertronix and the Hollerboard would grow to include the future heroes of Mad Decent, Fool's Gold, and other dance music soon-to-be-behemoths: Nick Catchdubs, Flosstradamus, Dave Nada, Treasure Fingers, Jokers of the Scene, Louisahhh, DJ Sliiink, Four Color Zack, and Spank Rock's whole posse. It also was the first time you would hear about people like Jacques Greene, Jerome LOL, Rizzla, Bok Bok, or Proper Villains."
